I finished the first week of the school lunch plan that I bought, 6 Week School Lunch Plan. Today is the last day to purchase it.
I was committed to doing it, but not sure how well it would go over with the children.
I assumed Toby and Amelia would try more of the foods than Lucy, but I was wrong. Turns out Lucy is hungrier than them and so she has eaten all of the foods that I have sent, including grape tomatoes and cucumbers. It's worth it to me just for that!
I only needed to make three days of the meals last week because we had a holiday on Monday and the children buy school lunch one day a week.
This week I will be using four of the meal plans.
I am modifying them because it is enough work for me to make up all three lunches without having to also make all of the homemade things to go in them. I've been picking and choosing. I made the pita pizzas myself, but I bought Annie's organic mac and cheese instead of making my own. I also bought organic granola bars rather than making my own.
I love setting up my new yumbox for Amelia and Toby is back to using his Goodbyn (which they apparently don't make that same one anymore). I've just been using bags for Lucy's food because I wanted to see whether this was going to work for us, but I will purchase some sort of bento box for her soon.
Anyway, it is more work for me, but I feel good that they are eating healthier foods and trying new things!
