Hockey

Really every post I put on now should have to do with hockey because our lives have been consumed by it.

Have I mentioned I'm the team manager?  It's a full-time job on top of having a full-time job!  For the most part I am enjoying it, except that it means that I have to attend all the practices because I have so many people to communicate with and things to deliver to people.

So part of being a member of a hockey team, especially the Jr. Sharks, means that you attend a lot of Sharks games it turns out.  They rope you in with exciting experiences for your child.  Saturday, Toby participated in the Sharks opening night on the ice.  This coming Friday night, he is playing a full game on the DCU ice before the Sharks game starts.

So this past weekend he had practice at 9am, the Sharks game in the evening, and his first real game on Sunday at 5:00pm, and now we attend another Sharks game this coming Friday night, followed by his practice and game this weekend.  It's actually pretty fun, although I don't know that I will keep paying for Lucy and Amelia to attend the games.  More importantly, he enjoys it.

For the Worcester Sharks (AHL) Opening Night, Toby was able to be out on the ice during the opening ceremonies.  He skated out of the inflated shark head and was especially excited that he received a fist bump from a Sharks player.

Then Toby had his first real game.  Here he is during a face off.  He did very well for his first time actually playing a hockey game.  He played left wing.  The final score was 2-2.
