Grades

2nd quarter report cards are being released today, so I thought I'd share this article. Grades Do More Harm Than Good

I'm thankful to have the opportunity to teach in a grade free classroom this year.  Student growth is measured by mastery of skills, along with formative assessment that is used to direct learning.

Report card time is more work for me than it used to be because I can't just plug in a number based on the grades earned through the quarter.  I have to put more thought into determining if the student is meeting expectations, and more thought into the comments that I write, but it is worth it!
