How We Spent Our Vacation Week

We:

- took down Christmas.  I love putting it up, but taking it all down is a close second.
- went to the Boston Public Market with Lucy and Amelia. Got lost on the way with a gps that couldn't quite pinpoint where it was, after heading to the airport twice, we decided to try on our own.  Once we got there we enjoyed it, nice to see local food and products in store settings, although everything was very pricey.  We did get donuts from Union Square Donuts, ramen from a noodle shop, spinach and cheese croissants, and a reuben.  We finished it up with ice cream. We had dinner at a communal table with a man who is a physics researcher at Harvard and very interested in education, had a great chat with him, and he encouraged Lucy to focus solely on math and science (that went over well) ;)
- attended Toby's hockey game where his team won against the undefeated top team and Toby had his best playing game ever.
- tried out Toby's new drone
- made slime and worms using his new Chemistry set
- drew with fabric markers
- chatted with Toby on Hangouts and received emails from him on his new computer
- slept until noon many days
- had real dinners
- started drinking smoothies again
- wrote thank you notes
- worked at school to get some big projects started/laid out
- used an oil diffuser every day
- vacuumed with my new stick vac, much more frequently than I have vacuumed before
- stayed up all night reading "Gone with the Wind".  Haven't read it since I was a teenager (when it was my favorite).  I definitely pick up on different things 20 years later.
- put away all of the Christmas presents and cleaned the bedrooms
- went to Grammy S.'s New Year's party
- drove around in our new loaner van
- explored Party City, Petsmart, and the local Christian bookstore
- got our Honda back and the check engine light came on on the ride home!  Now it's going back for a new Oxygen sensor next week.
- developed our pictures from July-December
- backed up my computer
- organized the order of books I am reading and going to read
- went to the library
- slept and slept some more
- played Spoons as a family
- played Scrabble
- watched Mr. Turner, Cake, and Black or White - I have nothing to say about any of them.
- caught up on my magazine reading
- Sam worked construction in Boston.
- made a potato clock
- celebrated NYE with my parents with Chinese food, sushi and Jurassic World, while Lucy slept over a friend's house.
