But today a parent told me they were watching Anne of Green Gables last night with their daughter (who was my student for two years) and M said, "Mrs. Bowler was to me what Miss Stacey is to Anne." Then she sent me this clip.
Then I cried and wished I was back in the classroom because you know what? Part of me is Miss Stacey. I'm far from a perfect teacher, but I loved my students. I wanted them to know victory and I wanted them to explore and discover. Might be the highest compliment I have ever received as teacher.
