Books

We've watched a few movies the past few weeks:

Dom Hemingway - I couldn't even tell you what it was about and Sam didn't like it.

Winter's Tale - Not too bad, not too good.  Great set of actors/actresses.

Home - We watched this for family movie night.  The kids liked it.

Bears - I haven't convinced anyone to watch this documentary yet, but it is waiting at our house.

I'm currently reading:

The Smartest Kids in the World: And How They Got That Way - It's an interesting, quick read, but do you want to know the main secret to a smart child.  Reading, reading, reading.  Read to your children when they are infants.  Read to your child when they are older than infants.  Read to your children even when they can read to themselves.  Have them read every day.  Hopefully they will love to, but if they don't, still have them read.  Go to the bookstore, look for books with them that look interesting to them, then get the books at the library and let them look at the pictures until they can read the words.  But bottom line:  Read!

Why Read 20 Minutes A day? This should go home to every parent at the beginning of the year, but I'd highlight the test score part more!: Why Read 20 Minutes A day? This should go home to every parent at the beginning of the year, but I'd highlight the test score part more!
