Birthday Presents

Here are some of the presents I received at my party:

A yumbox - It's a bento style lunch box that you can put liquids in without it leaking into other compartments.  You can't put water, but things like yogurt and applesauce are supposed to be fine.  I'm using it for Amelia's lunch this week and put ranch dressing in it the first day, we'll see how it works out.

My brother gave me a gift certificate to Eastern Standard, a restaurant in Boston that I am excited to go to.  His gift also included a night at his condo and transportation to the restaurant.  Fabulous!  Sam and I will have to pick a night to go.
If you are a teacher, then you actually enjoy getting work gifts for your birthday.  My mother bought me these books for work.  Grammar Minutes, Power Reading Workshop, and You are Special.  If you haven't read You are Special, you should.  I had never read it, when I read it to my class this year as part of our social development curriculum, and I started crying while reading.  It's lovely with a lovely message.
My sister bought me this.  My microwave is high up on the refrigerator and I can't actually see into it.  If you put your bowl in this cozy and then microwave it, you can take the bowl out holding the cozy and not burn your fingers!

She also made me delicious smelling soap!
