Weekend

Friday was a professional day for me.  Sam stayed home with the kids and they went to Douglas State Park for the day and had fun swimming and exploring.  Then they went to Kids' Club at the community center with more swimming.  I had a great PD day, and then stayed at the school until evening to get everything done, including any weekend work, which meant Saturday was the first day in months that I did nothing that had to do with school, and it was a great day!

Amelia had soccer, where she scored another goal.  Then the girls in the house headed to a baby shower, while the boys headed to a laser tag birthday party.  We met up after and I knew I wanted to do something fun, but wasn't sure what that was.  Sam saw that the Ringling Bros. Circus was in Worcester, so I did some digging through our files and found the kids' free circus passes that I had sent away for when each was born.  When you have a baby, you can request a ticket for your child.  (The child has to be under 1.)  This ticket entitles them to a free ticket to their first circus, to be used at any age.  Yes, I was impressed that I was able to find all three, including the 11 year old one.

We got tickets to the 3:00 show and all went to our first circus.

Then we finished a great day with dinner for Lucy, Toby, Sam and I at The Melting Pot, with Amelia having a fun shopping trip with my mother.  It was a Water Fire night in Providence so we stopped by to see that also, and dealt with lots of traffic.

Today we taught Children's Church, visited Grammy S., Sam and Toby went ice skating, and put away the outdoor toys for the winter.

We also have an air hockey table set up in the living room which we are neighbors were giving away.  It's going to Sam's brother, but is spending some time here first.

Tomorrow is the annual Bowler apple picking day in NH, and then back to school on Tuesday.
